About Red Deer

Red Deer is a next-generation financial technology company dedicated to enhancing the performance of active investment managers. Serving a client base of some of the world's leading hedge funds, asset managers and pension funds, Red Deer is founded on three key pillars – 'Miss Nothing that Matters', 'Turn Data into Decisions' and 'Stay Ahead of Regulation'. Red Deer enables active investment managers to intuitively explore and discover, share and collaborate and make data-driven decisions that drive performance, whilst seamlessly staying on the right side of regulation.

The Red Deer team has unrivalled experience in both investment management and technology design and development, drawing on specialist backgrounds in investment banking, asset management, financial data supply, hedge funds, digital broking and other areas of emerging FinTech.

Hilton Nathanson
Founder Red Deer

Hilton Nathanson’s career has been built on fund management and entrepreneurialism, particularly leveraging the power of technology within asset management. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Hilton came to London in 1992 and worked at Goldman Sachs before establishing a stock broking company together with Kyte Group, which became Eden Group. In 1998, he started trading the London-based hedge fund Tomahawk, and established his own company, Marble Bar Asset Management, with his business partner, Gilad Hayeem in 2002. Several years later, and with Lehman Brothers as a minority investor, the firm grew significantly, before it was sold to Swiss private bank, EFG in 2008. Hilton subsequently reacquired Marble Bar Asset Management in order to secure its unique proprietary platform, which became the starting point for Red Deer.

Together with Hilton’s conviction about the transformative power of technology, the key inspiration behind Red Deer is his personal philosophy on the drivers of optimal performance – being well organised and prepared, developing your own strategy and the ability to operate a structured investment process, embracing technology instead of allowing it to become overwhelming, and unleashing its power to reinforce confidence and resolve.
